L’utilizzo dei pattern nel mio lavoro è rappresentato principalmente nel packaging, nelle linee di prodotti. Esistono immagini in grado di riaprire cassetti chiusi da tempo, i famosi cassetti della memoria, o nel mio caso dello studio. Ultimamente frullano in testa ricordi come Escher, la Gestalt, nozioni di percezione visiva, comunicazione, grafica, architettura.
Dopo giorni di riflessione ho capito “chi” era il responsabile di un ritorno mnemonico così influente da portarmi a interessarmene:
il pattern! Trovo molto stimolante capire il suo potenziale e inserirlo nel giusto contesto. L’uso creativo di questo tipo di elementi grafici o di geometrie non convenzionali, può stravolgere le consuetudini e dar vita a risultati inaspettati, dinamici, addirittura caotici.
Inserire volutamente elementi che, ripetendosi, interrompano l’uniformità e l’armonia di uno schema (seppure anch’essi inseriti in esso, bizzarre combinazioni di linee e forme per conquistare l’attenzione degli osservatori. Con un pattern possiamo esprimere una forza visuale quasi magica, un fascino incantatore che strega il nostro sguardo.
Il suo ripetersi ancora e ancora, ipnotizza, seduce e trascina altrove, in una dimensione immaginaria dove non esiste scansione spazio temporale, lasciandoci sospesi senza punti di riferimento. Ho pensato che il metodo giusto per approcciarmi a questo mondo sia la sperimentazione: provare e ricercare schemi affinché possano divenire un progetto concreto.
The use of patterns in my work is mainly represented in the packaging, in the product lines.There are images that can reopen drawers closed for a long time, the famous memory drawers, or in my case the study.Lately, memories such as Escher, the Gestalt, notions of visual perception, communication, graphics, architecture, are rumbling in the head.
After days of reflection I realized _ who was responsible for a mnemonic return so influential that I became interested in it:
the pattern! I find it very stimulating to understand its potential and to put it in the right context. The creative use of this type of graphic elements or unconventional geometries, can distort the habits and give life to unexpected results, dynamic, even chaotic.
Inserting deliberately elements that, repeating themselves, interrupt the uniformity and harmony of a pattern (although also inserted in it, bizarre combinations of lines and shapes to win the attention of the observers. With a pattern we can express an almost magical visual force, an enchanter charm that bewitches our gaze.
Its repetition over and over, hypnotizes, seduces and drags elsewhere, in an imaginary dimension where there is no space-time scanning, leaving us suspended without reference points. I thought that the right method to approach this world is experimentation: to try and research patterns so that they can become a concrete project.
